Councils report shortages in Rock salt supplies

It was announced last week that a large number of UK councils have not yet received their rocksalt allocation due to shortages. Demand this year for rock salt is huge and shortages are forecasted.

Councils are worried that if the UK gets another prolonged cold period that rock salt supplies will run out earlier than last year which will cause havoc on the roads.

The advice to the public is that if rock salt is need for used around the home or work to try and order early to avoid disappointment while prices are competitive.
